If every major character is somewhat tied to Kal-El, then the DC Universe becomes too small. However, tying the origins of so many important characters to the Man of Steel is tricky. Wonder Woman being Kryptonian would only have made the DCEU even more reliant on Superman. For example, The Flash is revisiting Man of Steel.
Even after both Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill exited the franchise, Superman remains at the center of the DCEU. From Kal-El’s birth in the first minutes of Man of Steel to Superman’s resurrection in Justice League, the DCEU focused its story on the Man of Steel. The very first sound in the DCEU was Kal-El’s cry, after all. Henry Cavill’s Superman was at the center of the DCEU, even more so in the Zack Snyder-directed films.
